Who WE are

The Coalition for Career Development (CCD) Center works to build a nation-wide consensus around its vision: to make career readiness the first priority of American education for ALL students.

Our five pillars have guided the work of the CCD Center since our 2016 conference at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. We provide research, analysis, and positions supporting these pillars at ccd-center.org/resources.

In 2022 we introduced our Five-Pillar Solutions Framework in our position paper: How to Make Career Readiness for All The First Priority of American Education(Download Position Paper 2022).

In 2023 we published recommendations for next steps regarding each of the five pillars in an all-state analysis focused on K-12 career and academic planning, in our first Report of the Condition of Career Readiness in the United States

In 2024, we published aligned recommendations for Youth and Young Adults in our second report of the Condition of Career Readiness in the United States.

In 2025, we are focusing on our accountability pillar to recommend the integration of quality assurance standards into the implementation of H.R. 6585, the Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act. We appealed to federal leaders in the U.S. Department of Education in a Public_Comment_Letter) and provided updated guidance in a second edition of Quality Assurance Guidelines for National Industry Certification Bodies by the Coalition for Career Development Center’s Committee on Quality Industry Certifications (2025).
